It was April-end this week and I fed all my month’s data to AI and asked it to create a report…
and the results were eye-opening, shocking and whatever you want to call it 🤯
In case you’re wondering what I am talking about, you need to read my last week’s letter where I talked about my big experiment with time.
So yeah, talking about results from AI – I got a complete report of how I spent my time in the month of April 📆
Nothing unexpected as such… but I realized 1 big thing.
Now read this carefully.
Whatever we do throughout the day, these tasks can be divided in 2 parts
👉 Setup Tasks – Done once when you get started.
👉 Maintenance Tasks – Done continuously to actually get results
Some real examples –
Setup >> Maintenance
➡️ Set up Instagram page >> keep posting content regularly
➡️ Building a new website >> maintaining it and keep publishing blogs consistently
➡️ Announce your services to the world >> keep closing clients and serving them to make money out of it
➡️ Creating a financial goal and investment strategy >> regularly invest towards that goal
➡️ Buying a brand new sparkling car >> Clean it, service it and maintain it forever
➡️ Planning, researching and strategizing an idea >> Executing
Undoubtedly, setup is way easier than maintenance.
Or call it consistency. This is what brings results.
But let me tell you the bigger challenge!
When do we stop?
When do we stop maintaining things when they are not working out as expected?
Thoughts after giving up and stopping it – Did I quit too early? 🤔
Thoughts after consistently doing something and maintaining it – Am I wasting too much time and energy on this? Is it even worth doing it? 🤔
Most of the people start new things because they just consider setup, which is easy.
So when do we stop?
Honestly, I don’t know. There might not even be a right answer.
After this whole activity, I realized that I could free up some more time from my day by stopping some maintenance activities from my day that add no value to my long term goal.
I think I got an approach. A new angle to think about every step I take.
IMPACT ≠ CONSISTENCY
✍ TODAY’S ACTION ITEM
While initiating anything, consider the setup as well as maintenance it would take.
👉 What resources (time, money, skill, connections, etc) it would take?
👉 What outcome am I expecting out of this?
Most of your decisions will be wiser.
Now reply and tell me – what was the last initiative or side project you took and then quickly gave up because maintaining it in your day-to-day life was almost impossible?
✔ WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
Created packages, messaging and offerings for the client to market it the best way. These things are the core of marketing 💟
Remember I mentioned that I created a strategy for Instagram for my client? Well, good news. 2 Reels already went viral this week. Hoping this momentum continues 🤞
First version of “Letters by P2” is finally live. All articles are live. I made a setup of analytics, search console and a few configurations on the website this week 🚀
Currently it is too basic with a bunch of articles curated. I will make further changes based on response.
Published 2 videos and 1 social post.
One of the videos is about – WHAT side project YOU can build. Ask for the link by replying to this email and I will send you right away!
Downloaded my childhood favorite game – “Age of Empires” which I played for 8 years! I was all in nostalgic mode while playing it ⚔️
Completed another book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth” – it is about Greg who is entering teenage. It’s all about his funny stories of increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older 📖
Watched 2 movies this week 😝
“Influencer” was a horror thriller film released in 2022. It is about a social media influencer who meets a mysterious woman while backpacking in Thailand 😰
Then I watched the Hindi movie “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” and it is a RomCom story about a robotics engineer (Shahid Kapoor) who could not find his ideal partner. He then meets Sifra (Kriti Sanon) on a trip to the USA and falls in love with her, only to discover later that she is an AI robot 🤭
I was avoiding considering it to be cringe because of its title. Yes, I judged it by its cover. But man! It is actually about AI – the topic which is trending right now.
Honestly I liked it because I had zero expectations and it was a nice way to show what the future might look like. Just possibilities.
🌐 AROUND THE WEB
Found this amazing video creating tool called Viddyoze. Won’t really call it a video editor as it’s better for creating animations and explainer videos.
Of course, it has AI capabilities.
